The cherubic boy-next-door good looks are still there, as is the
voice and talent, but what is different about Bryan White and his
new Asylum album Between Now & Forever is the maturation
of the artist.
Last year's self-titled freshman effort Bryan White started off
slow with the release of "Eugene, You Genius" and ended with a bang
when "Someone Else's Star" hit number one followed by this year's
first number one "Rebecca Lynn." With Between Now & Forever
White has assembled an array of songs by some of the industry's top
writer's as well as penning a few for himself.
You'll find tunes by Mac McAnally ("Still Life"), Chris Waters &
Lonnie Wilson ("Blindhearted"), and Skip Ewing and Donny Kees ("I'm
Not Supposed To Love You Anymore") with the latter already getting
airplay.
White mixes up the tunes with ballads (for which he seems to have
a forte) and endearing upbeat tunes like "A Hundred And One" which
he says "makes me think of my grandparents because they"ve been together
for almost 50 years."
If White continues on this track he"ll end up being married to country
music for 50 years too.
