Kenny Chesney has now solidified his status and place as a country
music artist. His versatility with a song is solid gold. Everywhere
We Go has a little something for everyone. For those who are prone
to top 40, pop or country this album will have something for you.
Chesney, has come into his own both as a tunesmith and an artist (though
he only presents two with his name in the credits on this album).
Chesney's vocals are powerful and rich yet they retain the downhome
honest essence that is requisite of a singer who hails from the same
mountain area that gave us A.P. Carter and the Carter Sisters and
the birth of country music.
This album starts off with the powerful lament "What I Need To Do"
and is followed immediately with three other hot to handle singles,
"How Forever Feels," "You Had Me From Hello," (copenned by Chesney
and superstar songwriter Skip Ewing) and the Brett James penned "Kiss
Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me."
As songs go Kenny has selected tunes by some of the best writers
in the business. Paul Overstreet contributed to three cuts, co-penning
"Everywhere We Go" with Billy Aerts and the fun time tune "She Thinks
My Tractor's Sexy" which Overstreet wrote with Jim Collins and finally
the heart felt "A Woman Knows" with Kenny Chesney and Don Sampson.
Chesney is one of the last of the hat acts to achieve fame and likely
will continue to have a good run of it if Everywhere We Go
is any indication as he his adept and will likely lead the pack as
we step into the 21st century.
