Glamorous Trisha Yearwoods fourth album, Thinkin
About You, is a wonderfully crafted listening experience that
beautifully showcases the wide-ranging talents of this emerging superstar.
On The Restless Kind, certain to be a hit, Yearwoods
voice is full of the rambunctious power and emotion that fueled earlier
hits like Wrong Side of Memphis and Down on My Knees.
She shifts gears and comes up with another gem in the sad, love-lost
ballad On a Bus to St. Cloud, filled with the killer lyrics
and thoughtful phrasing that are Yearwood hallmarks.
Fairytale, penned by award-winning song-meister Tony
Arata, is a fun, upbeat romp featuring, in addition to the classic
Yearwood voice, a funky, bluesy harmonica riff interspersed throughout.
For good measure, the album also includes You Can Sleep While
I Drive, a Melissa Etheridge composition, the tender Till
I Get It Right, featuring a lush string arrangement courtesy
of the Nashville String Machine, the passionate title track, with
a little help from Lee Roy Parnell on slide guitar, and the endearing
No. 1 smash hit, XXXs and OOOs.
A warm, rich and finely honed effort, Thinkin About You
proves once and for all that Trisha Yearwood is a huge artist
who has just begun to scratch the surface of her potential.
